In First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities in Canada, women and girls are being stolen from their homes. From the years 1980 to 2012, at least 1,017 Indigenous women and girls were murdered, and many others remain missing and unaccounted for.
It’s absolutely crucial the government address the root causes of these disappearances. Tell Prime Minister Stephen Harper you support a national inquiry to investigate the murders.
The higher rate of violence against an under-represented group of women and girls continues, a government-led investigation must be undertaken to identify and tackle the discrimination and inequalities which can lead to this violence.
Join me by calling on Prime Minister Stephen Harper to end the violence against Indigenous women and girls. Take action by adding your name today.
Thank you for taking action,
